1. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint;
1. guard my life from dread of the enemy.
2. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked,
2. from the throng of the workers of iniquity;
3. they sharpen their tongue like a sword,
3. and bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words,
4. that they may shoot in secret at the blameless;
4. suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.
5. They harden themselves in an evil matter;
5. they talk privately of laying snares;
5. they say, “Who will see them?”
6. They devise injustice,
6. saying “We have perfected a secret plot.”
6. Both the inward thought of man and the heart are deep.
7. But God will suddenly shoot them with an arrow;
7. they will be wounded.
8. They will bring ruin on themselves
8. by their own tongues;
8. all who see them will flee away.
9. All people will fear,
9. and declare the work of God;
9. they will wisely consider His deeds.
10. The righteous will be glad in the Lord,
10. and seek refuge in Him,
10. and all the upright in heart will glory.
