1. Praise the Lord!
1. For it is good to sing praises unto our God;
1. for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
2. The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
2. He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
3. He heals the broken in heart,
3. and binds up their wounds.
4. He counts the number of the stars;
4. He calls them all by their names.
5. Great is our Lord and great in power;
5. His understanding is without measure.
6. The Lord lifts up the meek;
6. He casts the wicked down to the ground.
7. Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving;
7. sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8. who covers the heaven with clouds,
8. who provides rain for the earth,
8. who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.
9. He gives food to the animals
9. and to the young ravens that chirp.
10. He delights not in the strength of the horse,
10. nor does He take pleasure in the legs of a man,
11. but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
11. in those who hope in His mercy.
12. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem;
12. praise your God, O Zion.
13. For He has strengthened the bars of your gates;
13. He has blessed your children within you.
14. He makes peace in your borders,
14. and fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15. He sends forth His commandment on the earth;
15. His word goes out swiftly.
16. He gives snow like wool;
16. He scatters the frost like ashes;
17. He casts forth His ice like morsels;
17. who can stand before His cold?
18. He sends out His word and melts them;
18. He causes His wind to blow and the waters flow.
19. He shows His word to Jacob,
19. and His statutes and His judgments to Israel.
20. He has not dealt so with any other nation;
20. they have not known His judgments.
20. Praise the Lord!
