1. When the Lord restored the captives of Zion,

1. we were like those who dream.

2. Then our mouth was filled with laughter,

2. and our tongue with singing.

2. Then they said among the nations,

2. “The Lord has done great things for them.”

3. The Lord has done great things for us;

3. we are glad.

4. Restore our captives, O Lord,

4. as the streams in the Negev.

5. Those who sow in tears

5. shall reap in joy.

6. He who goes forth and weeps,

6. bearing precious seed to sow,

6. shall come home again with rejoicing,

6. bringing his grain sheaves with him.
